Launched as the Gleaners Food Bank Softball Tournament the first year was an all Men’s divisional tournament, made up of 12 teams. The tournament was held at Tags Sporting Complex in Hartland, MI. We successfully raised 16,000 meals for Gleaners Community Food Bank (GCFB).

Second year, we open the tournament to include a Men’s, Women’s, and Coed Division of play. In total, 21 teams partake in the tournament benefiting GCFB. Meals raised climbs to 29,275.

Third year, the tournament adds an additional softball complex location, Duck Lake Pines Park, to accommodate the number of teams participating. With 29 teams, it is decided to make Men’s and Women’s into two divisions each, one being recreational, the other competitive. Coed Division remains the same.Meals raised in benefit of GCFB’s is 59,275. Men’s competitive champions. J.E.N. Fourth year, the Child Hunger Ends Here softball tournament draws 25 teams. Men’s Competitive and Recreational Divisions has 12 teams, a memory flashback of our very first tournament held where we had only a Men’s division and no Women’s or Coed. Women’s division was 8 teams, Coed 5. Reinstituted from first year was the food drive and we made it a competition amongst the church teams for which ones bring in the most. Brighton Nazarene comes through with the most, 538lbs was gathered in total. Tournament Champions, Men’s Competitive, EFN Pink. Men’s Recreational, Unicorn Terror Squad. Women’s, Trainers. Fifth year. In tracking our numbers, it was determined after our first year of the Child Hunger Ends Here! Gleaners Softball Tournament, that we could achieve raising over 100,000 meals for GCFB in 5 years. With 39 teams from across the state of Michigan participating. The Child Hunger Ends Here! Tournament smashed its 5 year goal by hitting over 132,331 meals raised for children at-risk in Livingston, County! In participation was 13 Men’s teams and 10 Women’s teams both divided into Competitive and Recreational divisions. And Coed had the highest participation with 16 teams.
